Tile Work Underway

The tile work got underway at the house. I think honestly this might be one of the most exciting milestones when we finish. There is going to be so much tile that it will make an enormous impact when complete. I will be updating as much as I can to show the progress! to be continued.....

Very cool, we are going to do a similar treatment to our master shower. It will be exciting to see the tile when it is up. Was the pan or the floor difficult to do?

I saw your home renovation on livemodern.com. The house looked familiar to me and I realized that I live just down the street. You guys have put in a ton of work and it seems to be paying off! Looks nice!

I am an intern architect for a Little Rock firm and I love seeing cool renovation projects like this.

Just thought I'd say hey.

I am not sure if the pan or floor was difficult. The pan looked pretty difficult watching the tile guy make sure the floor sloped properly. He had it done in a day though. We don't have the tile down on the floors yet. Just the Hardie..

Wendell, do you live on Garland as well?

I guess you might have seen the state of the home before and how bad the previous owners had let it get??

Damon,

I actually live on Avondale. I can tell from your "before" photos that the house was in rough shape. When are you guys planning on having it all finished?

Wendell- It feels like never most days.... lol... I am hoping to be able to move into it around April. Should have all of phase II done by the end of 2009. That would be everything but the addition with the roof-top deck that we are hoping to start on at the beginning of 2010. Most of the work is done by my father and myself so that tends to slow things down at times..

Do you have an email address? I might need some assistance on the addition and I would love to: a) work with someone from the neighborhood, b) work with someone who had an interest in modern/contemporary design..

BTW their is a great MCM house on the corner of Garland and Avondale I am sure you have noticed.. The dark gray one..

Damon,

Very cool. Yeah, my dad and I have been building a storage shed behind my house. It has taken a long time but I'm pleased with how it's turning out.

My email address is wkinzler@thewilcoxgroup.com. I'd love to come check out the work sometime.
